BULLDOZER vs WHEEL LOADER
Many of us don’t know the difference between bulldozers and wheel loaders. What we know is that both of these are utilized at most of the construction sites but knowing which one is used for what is yet to be found. There is a world of difference between these machines but knowing the exact purpose makes things easier – especially on-site. For many of us, these construction equipment are nothing more than gigantic equipment manufactured by heavy equipment industries. To just give you a rough idea, only a cabin is one point of similarity between these machines. So today we are going to mention some of the major differences between these machines to ensure that you don’t mistake one for the other one.

Often we would go out and see a building being constructed or demolished. Those colors of yellow and red running in and out of the construction site. Seeing this you might wonder what is the purpose of each of these? The answer lies in the use of each construction equipment.
The Variation In Between
The variation in between each of them is also due to models and sizes. Each equipment, either bulldozer or loader, has its own models that come in different sizes and specifications. Regarding bulldozer; these are mostly utilized at quarry areas, farming, and mining sites and come with a blade made of metal attached to the front. In addition to this piece of construction equipment is also used in military projects, industrial sectors, or any other projects that demand its usage. To grab the basic concepts you can understand it as a crawler that is utilized to move large amounts of soil, sand, rubble, and other earthy materials. Even here there are specifications. This crawler dozer is designated towards separating or moving those quantities of soil that would be dumped onto the site for construction, later on.
The Workload Difference
As far as the wheel loader is concerned, the work area is not so different from the bull dozer – construction sites. If one were to compare both the equipment, he/she would find out that if the dozer is used to push and shove the material aside, the loader is used to load a variety of the same materials such as snow, sand, debris, gravel, rocks, soil, asphalt, and multiple other materials. Will just loading these material do the job? The answer is no. The loader also carries the material to the construction equipment that will carry out the material such as conveyor belt or articulated dump trucks.
Types of the Tools for Dozer
When it comes to tools of the trade regarding the dozer, ripper and blade are two main components. As already mentioned, the dozer comes with a blade attached to the front end. The use of this blade is to shove and push materials. There are approximately three (3) types of the razor blades: the S blade, also known as Straight blade, the U-blade, also known as the Universal blade, and a combination of both; the S-U blade. If you are thinking of fine grading then S blade is your choice for the dozer. If you are planning on carrying more material then you have the freedom to choose the Universal blade. However, when it comes to working in the quarry sites, your best option would be to use an S-U combination blade. Another tool that comes with the dozer is ripper. Ripper is attached to the rear end and has a claw like appearance. To collect a material or to move it, one needs to first break it, here comes the use of the ripper. Ripper rips, breaks, and tears hard earthy materials so that these can be easily transported and handled.
Tools for the Loader
Now about the loader, either new or used wheel loader, its front end looks like a bucket in the shape of the square. This has the capability to load the material by scooping and ultimately carry on the loose materials from one place to another. The differentiation comes here, the loader can’t push the material from the ground. Versatility is instilled in this equipment types due to different models. These models allow for the front bucket attachment to either be permanently attached or removed. When you find that the attachment is removable, then you have the freedom to replace the bucket with other tools such as scrapers or forks.
Transportation Medium
To work on the construction sites, these machines need to get there. The question is how? Because the bull dozer is equipped with tracks, it requires another machine, like a flatbed truck to transfer it to the construction site. However, when it comes to the wheel loader it doesn’t need another vehicle to transport it because it has wheels and allows the driver to drive it to the construction site. The reason for bull dozer being close to the ground is the presence of tracks. The front loaders owe their height to the big wheels. So this is all about the wheel loaders and the bull dozers.
