Caterpillar diesel built-in engines use the Caterpillar fuel pump and powerful nozzle injection system. A Cat fuel pump is a crucial attachment to any heavy construction machine. Each internal pump of the Caterpillar fuel injection pump system measures the amount of diesel fuel to be injected into a separate cylinder and produces the high pressure required for fuel to be injected. The overall injection pump plunger system is picked up by cam action and easily returned by spring action. These strong plungers are turned from the main governor action through a frame that interconnects with the gear segment system on the bottom layer of the pump plungers. All of Cat’s internal pumps are similar to other injection pumps and centrally mounted on the main pump housing.

The solid sleeve metering and different scroll-type pumps in the fuel system that is utilized by the Caterpillar Company to operate on the same fundamentals. These special “jerk” pumps are enclosed in solo injection pump housings and normally referred to as special in-line multiple-plunger systems. These multiple-plunger pump systems significantly boost the capability of the fuel system.

Primary Function of Fuel Pumps:

To pump the diesel fuel from an internal fuel gas tank to the powerful combustion system, the fuel module needs an electric pump system, a fuel line system, and an automatic electric system to control it. A segment of the electric system also conveys information to the tool’s cluster that shows the fuel level.
